The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the World Test Championship Standing after the second Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka Test.
According to the latest update, the win helps Sri Lanka overtake Pakistan and move up to fourth place on the table, with India (first), Australia (second), and New Zealand (third) the only teams ahead of them.
Sri Lanka improved their chances of qualifying for next year’s ICC World Test Championship final with a resounding 192-run win over Bangladesh in the second Test in Chattogram.
The Asian side clinched a 2-0 series sweep after completing victory during the opening session on the fifth day of the final Test of the two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Bangladesh slips to equal seventh on the standings, with their next series coming in Pakistan later this year.
It must be noted that 12 points are awarded for a win, six points for a tie, and four points for a draw. Points are also deducted for slow overrates.
Teams are ranked according to the percentage of points won, meanwhile, the top two teams progress to the final at Lord’s in 2025.
